Spencerian Script is a graceful and delicate system of penmanship to learn.. Inspired by nature, Platt Rogers Spencer looked at the curvature, versatility, and variety that he saw in the natural world around him to bring us this beautiful form of penmanship. Throughout this course I will share the insights I have gleaned through years of private study with both Brian Walker and Michael Sull. These wonderful Master Penmen have greatly influenced my writing style and understanding of the hand. As I teach this course, I hope to share the peaceful and meditative quality of this delicate script. This hand has the remarkable ability to help to lighten your touch with the pointed pen. We will explore the possibilities for this gentle script The historic letterforms are relatively simple to learn and can be embellished with graceful flourishes. I hope to pass on the passion and appreciation I have for this beautiful penmanship.
